Spiritual Urgency at Stedelijk Museum Schiedam

S

tedelijk Museum Schiedam asked us to make Ebru on 6x1.5 meter fabrics for the Spiritual Urgency exhibition. In order to do this, we created a temporary tray. A very complex process as you can see in the picture below!

Try-outs on a temporary tray

Every Ebru is unique. It’s such a special art form, as it's impossible to make a copy of an Ebru. Colours are applied to the surface of a specially prepared water solution and they all lead their own way in the water. You can't control them completely to a certain shape.

In Spiritual Urgency, interdisciplinary artists reveal the indispensable role that spirituality plays in our inner balance. The exhibition opened at Stedelijk Museum Schiedam on 26 November 2022 and will run until 10 April 2023.
